Background: The high level chronic kidney failure cases can be caused by several risk factors, one of which is family history, history of hypertension, and smoking habits. Chronic kidney failure cases at RSUD dr. Soedono Madiun in the past year experienced a significant increase of 41% of chronic kidney failure cases. The purpose of this study was to analyze the Factors Affecting the Incidence of Chronic Kidney Failure at RSUD dr. Soedono East Java Province.
The methods of this research: In this study, the researchers used quantitative research methods with a case control approach. The population and sample are all patients with chronic kidney failure in the last three months. The population was 93 respondents. Samples was 102 respondents, with 51 respondent cases and 51 respondent control. In collecting the data, the researcher uses questionnaires. In analyzing the data, the researcher uses Chi-Square test.
The result: The results showed that there was a significant influence between independent variables, namely there was an influence between family history and the incidence of chronic kidney failure (p-value = 0.006), there was a influence between the history of hypertension and the incidence of chronic kidney failure (p-value = 0.001), and there was a influence between smoking habits and the incidence of chronic kidney failure (p-value = 0.029) at RSUD dr. Soedono East Java Province.
Discussion and Conclusion: The conclusion in this study is that there is a influence between family history, history of hypertension, and smoking habits with the incidence of chronic kidney failure at RSUD dr. Soedono East Java Province. Advice for hospitals was need for education and consultation rooms for patients with chronic kidney failure to increase patient motivation in recovery.
